Technology Overview

The NovaSom Home Sleep Test uses patented audio digital-signal processing (DSP) technology to sense, analyze, and process the patient's respiratory sounds and convert these sounds to airflow volume. The back end of this process is NovaSom Study Viewer™, an intelligent electronic analysis system that utilizes proprietary algorithms for automated scoring and generation of the diagnostic report.

A qualified physician receives the study summary report and provides a diagnostic interpretation along with the test results to the prescribing physician.

The Sleep Study report provides concise, conclusive data that enables physicians to make an accurate and rapid diagnostic decision. The NovaSom Home Sleep Test service is facilitated by our proprietary MediTrack® System, a comprehensive healthcare management system for the direct-to-patient delivery of testing services and medical products.

The NovaSom Home Sleep Test includes the following components:

  • Patient module worn on the wrist
  • Bedside recording unit
  • Airflow sensor worn on the face
  • Effort sensor worn around the chest
  • Finger sensor
