Our dedicated field based provider education teams work with practices to utilize peer-reviewed screening tools  to identify patients who are at high risk for OSA thereby preventing over or under utilization of the service.
• Increasing the efficacy of the testing process – The NovaSom home sleep test is unobtrusive and easy for patients to administer.  The test is done in-home up to 3 nights. Studies have shown that multi-night testing reduces the chances of missed diagnoses due to "first night effect" and night to night variability in sleep patterns and disease severity.
• Helping the patient get the right treatment and adhere to their prescribed therapy. While NovaSom is not a DME company and does not provide treatment, we believe that educating the market on the benefits of less expensive treatment options to CPAP we can help insurers reduce their overall costs of treating OSA. Many of these treatment options are also better tolerated by patients, leading to better compliance, and better clinical and financial outcomes.

About the NovaSom Test

The NovaSom home sleep test is approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for the diagnosis of Obstructive Sleep Apnea in adults. It is prescribed by a patient's physician and is typically 33% of the cost of the traditional in-lab sleep studies to diagnose OSA.

The home sleep test by NovaSom has been proven by multiple research studies to provide, night for night,  accuracy equivalent to in-lab tests (polysomnography).  Given its multi-night capability, the NovaSom test largely eliminates the high false negative rate associated with one-night tests. Our leading-edge technology and simplified engineering make the test easy for patients to administer. We promote aggressive screening to ensure the appropriate utilization of our home sleep test services. We also provide proactive outbound and 24/7 inbound telephonic support to patients before and during the testing process to answer questions and assure that the testing process is running smoothly. The test is delivered to the patient's home and returned to us once testing is complete. The results and interpretation are provided to the ordering physician.
